WHITE PLAINS, NY, November 11, 2011… Continued refinement of several category-specific “neighborhoods” within General Gift – the largest division of the New York International Gift Fair® (NYIGF®) – will simplify product sourcing and shopping for winter 2012 market participants. NYIGF’s General Gift features three “neighborhoods” grouped by like product category: On Trend, Stationery & Publishing and The Museum Source®.
“With 750 exhibitors presenting the full range giftware merchandise, General Gift is a considerable category for buyers to cover,” said Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and GLM senior vice president. “Our creation, and continued refinement, of these neighborhoods make NYIGF’s largest division easier to navigate.”
The “On Trend” neighborhood, which debuted in summer 2011, will expand to feature 20 suppliers of trend-driven, fashion-forward personal and home accessories, tableware, toys, apparel and more. Newcomers Lifeguard Press (featuring Dylan Candy) and tokidoki (presenting Tattooed Barbie licensed products) will join neighborhood anchors: Décor-Craft, Fred & Friends and Present Time. Oré Originals and Gamma Go also will return, with larger exhibit space for the winter 2012 market.
The Stationery & Publishing neighborhood will return with 40 exhibitors, showcasing specialty paper, note cards, journals, writing instruments and book publishing. It features key social stationery suppliers such as Knock Knock, Madison Park Greetings, Mudlark, Papaya and Pomegranate Communications; and leading publishers including Sterling Publishing and Workman Publishing.
The Museum Source neighborhood will feature 40 companies showcasing quality resources across multiple categories: books, calendars, folk art, historical products, posters, jewelry, art pieces, Judaica, educational merchandise and more. Key participants will include Art Objects, David Howell, Magnetic Poetry, Metropolitan Museum of Art and Tweet Tweet Home.
Beyond these three neighborhoods, NYIGF’s General Gift presents a full-spectrum of giftware merchandising, including collectibles, ceramic giftware, toys, pet items, party lines, trend merchandise, premiums, trim-a-tree, souvenirs and novelties, specialty foods, home office, floral and garden accessories, Judaica and general items.
